Merry Christmas

by Guy Robinson 23. December 2008 10:11

A busy lead up to Christmas and wishing everyone a prosperous New Year.

Find here a Christmas command designed to do nothing more than put a smile on your face. Note, it’s an external application. You’ll need to be running at a minimum win XP SP2 and .NET 3.0 . And make sure you have your speakers turned up ;-)

It subscribes to the OnDialogBoxShow event so you’ll know it’s working if you hear something when you open say the elements properties dialog.

LOL! You crazy man haha. Unfortunately I can't decipher every phrase (I heard one about PC's and Wiis I think!) and no, I have not been a naughty girl =)

Ok, bug report: Doesn't work when the Desin Options dialog is opened. Now head over to the ADN site to report it ;)

Here's all the phrases. The randomness doesn't seem to be very good. Should have just looped through them...

" Merrry Christmas USERNAME",                                                      "I'm a laughing gnome and you can't catch me",
"Have you been a good boy this year USERNAME",                    "Have you been a good girl this year USERNAME",                   "Who's a naughty boy",
"Who's a naughty girl",
"Ding dong merrily I'm high",
"Silent night, holy night, all things bright and beautiful",
"Deck the halls with boughs of holly",
"Deck the halls with new PC's and wee's",
"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. Oh what fun it is to play with a Revit PC",
"O Come All Ye Faithful, Joyful and triumphant",
"Come and behold Revit, Born the King of Bim",
"We three kings of Orient are, Bearing gifts we traverse afar"

There are a number of windows that don't raise a OnDialog event. Feature of Revit's design rather than a bug.
